20:00 Paris Saint-Germain vs Bayern Munich

News

  • Keylor Navas missed Paris Saint-Germain’s semi-final victory over RB Leipzig because of an injury and is still a doubt here.
  • The Italian Marco Verratti was not supposed to play until next season, but surprisingly came off the bench against Leipzig.
  • Leandro Paredes will probably be on the side to make room for Verratti, even though
  • he showed a great performance in his last two appearances for PSG.
  • In the match against Leipzig, Kylian Mbappe has lined up on the left, but now all three forwards will probably rotate, bearing in mind the space left behind Alphonso Davies, Bayern Munich left-back.
  • This is going to be the last match for PSG for Thiago Silva.
  • If Hansi Flick wants Joshua Kimmich moved back into midfield, then Benjamin Pavard is an option for a start at right-back. He played in Wednesday’s semi-final, in Bayern Munich’s 3-0 win over Lyon, after returning from an injury.
  • Jerome Boateng is now a major doubt for Bayern, after coming off at half-time against Lyon.
  • Niklas Sule is expected to fill in for Sunday’s final and is on standby at the moment.

Match Facts

  • Over 2.5 goals scored in 28 of PSG’s last 33 games (Champions League).
  • Last 10 matches won by Bayern (Champions League).
  • At least 3 goals scored in Bayern’s last 6 matches (Champions League).
  • 8 of their last 10 matches won by PSG (Champions League).
  • Over 2.5 goals scored in Bayern’s last 6 games (Champions League).
  • 5 of their last 6 matches where Bayern were winning at both half time and full time (Champions League).
  • Over 2.5 goals in PSG’s last 3 matches against Bayern in all competitions.
  • At least 2 goals scored by PSG in 5 of their last 6 matches (Champions League).

H2H Stats

Head-to-head matches: PARIS SG – BAYERN MUNICH
21.07.18 ICC Bayern Munich Paris SG 3 : 1
05.12.17 CL Bayern Munich Paris SG 3 : 1
27.09.17 CL Paris SG Bayern Munich 3 : 0
18.10.00 CL Bayern Munich Paris SG 2 : 0
26.09.00 CL Paris SG Bayern Munich 1 : 0

Prediction

After a really long time, Paris Saint-Germain have finally made it to their first ever Champions League final. They showed a terrific performance playing against RB Leipzig in the semi-final and won 3-0, so they really shouldn’t be underestimated.

Robert Lewandowski is, amazingly, only two goals behind Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 17 in a single Champions League campaign, so Bayern actually average 4.2 goals per game this season.

So, they obviously have the power for a victory against PSG.

Previously, in the matches against Barcelona and Lyon, they didn’t manage to take advantage of the space behind Alphonso Davies at left-back, but now things might be different because PSG have Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria, that can clearly give a lot of headaches to the German team.

This final could possibly be one of the most interesting finals recently.

15:00 Aberdeen vs Livingston

News

  • Aberdeen vs St Johnstone ended with 1-0 at McDiarmid Park in midweek.
  • They chose an unusual 3-5-2 formation because, for different reasons, they are missing a lot of players.
  • In the St Johnstone game, Ross McCrorie was given a Dons debut at centre back by Derek McInnes.
  • Since February 2019, Tommie Hoban has made his first appearance.
  • Andy Considine was suspended for two matches and has only served one match.
  • Scott Wright made his first appearance in almost a year, partnering with Niall McGinn, who played as one of two unusual strikers.
  • Because few senior players were missing, Dean Campbell was a real surprise in midfield.
  • Livi decided to go for a 4-2-3-1 formation and held the infamous Rangers 0-0 at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
  • Jason Holt partnered club captain Marvin Bartley in the middle of the park, coming into midfield and making his Lions debut.
  • Jack Hamilton took Lyndon Dykes’s place up front, as was left out of the matchday to play Rangers. Also, during the week, he completed his move to Queen’s Park Rangers.

Match Facts

  • Last 12 matches against Livingston where Aberdeen are undefeated in all competitions.
  • 5 of their last 6 home matches Aberdeen have lost (Premiership).
  • At least 2 goals scored by Aberdeen in 6 of their last 7 matches against Livingston in all competitions.
  • Last 8 matches where Livingston have failed to win (Premiership).
  • 1 goal margin in 5 of their last 6 home matches where Aberdeen have lost (Premiership).

H2H Stats

Head-to-head matches: ABERDEEN – LIVINGSTON
26.12.19 PRE Aberdeen Livingston 2 : 1
21.09.19 PRE Livingston Aberdeen 0 : 2
16.03.19 PRE Aberdeen Livingston 1 : 1
29.12.18 PRE Livingston Aberdeen 1 : 2
11.12.18 PRE Aberdeen Livingston 3 : 2

Prediction

In only their second match, Aberdeen’s few of the backup brigade have already secured their first three points of the league season.

Derek McInnes should be encouraged by their ability for a late winner and also their clean sheet.

Livingston had an unusual start to the season, with only three goals scored – one in the home defeat to Hibs and two in the draw away at Motherwell, where they also fired two blanks.

They were defeated by St Mirren, but Gary Holt should now be happier because they showed a great defence against Rangers last weekend.

Hopefully, Livingston will find a suitable replacement for Lyndon Dykes soon.

27.02.19 PRE St Johnstone Hibernian 1 : 2
03.11.18 PRE Hibernian St Johnstone 0 : 1
12.08.18 PRE St Johnstone Hibernian 1 : 1

Prediction

St Johnstone could’ve had back-to-back league victories as Aberdeen came to town, but they didn’t take the opportunities. It would be best for them not to do the same against a Hibs side.

Hibs also couldn’t manage with the Motherwell team and made not the best start to their league campaign.

One positive is that Jack Ross’ side have made consecutive clean sheets because of the Motherwell match.

Even though St. Johnstone are capable of grabbing a result, Hibs might record another 1-0 win on Tayside, like they did against Dundee United.

12:00 Monaco vs Reims

News

  • This is Niko Kovac’s first game in charge, where Axel Disasi will make his Monaco debut and will actually be playing against the side he just left.
  • Kovac has decided for a 4-3-3 formation and the leaving of Islam Slimani will mean Ben Yedder leading the line on his own.
  • In pre-season, Reims have switched between a 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 formation.
  • In central defence, Disasi’s replacement is expected to be Wout Faes.
  • Marshall Munetsi will probably be an option for Chavalerin in midfield.

Match Facts

  • Under 2.5 goals scored in 24 of Reims’s last 28 games (Ligue 1).
  • Under 2.5 goals scored in Monaco’s last 3 home games (Ligue 1).
  • Last 6 home matches against Reims where Monaco are undefeated in all competitions.

16:00 Nice vs Lens

  • Nice have always lined up in a 4-3-3 formation in pre-season and will do the same now.
  • Lens’s summer transfers Ganago and Fofana should feature here.
  • It is still unclear who will start in the side in defence, whether it’s going to be Steven Fortes or Gradit.
  • Jonathan Clauss will miss the start of the season because he has tested positive for coronavirus.

Match Facts

  • Over 2.5 goals scored in 7 of Nice’s last 8 home games (Ligue 1).
  • 11 of their last 12 matches where Nice are undefeated (Ligue 1).
  • 9 of their last 10 home matches against Lens where Nice are undefeated in all competitions.

05.03.11 L1 Nice Lens 0 : 0
23.10.10 L1 Lens Nice 1 : 0
17.04.10 L1 Nice Lens 0 : 0

Prediction

Nice has an incredible attacking ability, so a home victory seems likely here.

Lens’s experience in Ligue 1 is questionable and the trip to the Allianz Riviera might be a disappointment.
