Everton signs Yerry Mina from Barcelona

Swapping Barcelona for Everton despite the strong linking reports with Manchester United that has been made recently is real. The details have been given how the Toffees have agreed on a deal that’s worth 28.5 million Pounds to sign the Colombia international center-back. On a five-year contract, Mina is expected to move to Goodison Park. Some reports say that United had been credited with coming to terms with Mina. However, the deal broke down the moment Mina’s adviser Felipe Russo asked for some extra payments as part of the fee. The young player who impressed during the World Cup in Russia made the Everton manager Marco Silva to pull off quite a coup for Mina. By forming an intimidating defensive partnership alongside Tottenham Hotspur center-back Davinson Sanchez, Mina helped the Cafeteros reach the round of 16. He was dominant in the air at both ends of the pitch and formidable on the deck. Mina was struggling to convince Barca of his worth, which is a different story at club level. In La Liga, he made just five appearances including four starts. Maybe he didn’t make the grade in the Spanish top flight but Mina for sure will answer a need for Everton even if some thought the chances for a deal had gone. Mina can help a player like Michael Keane to recover from a troubled debut season at Goodison Park and can add some much-needed pace to the Everton back four. As primary options at center-back in Barca, manager Ernesto Valverde seems to be obviously content with names like Samuel Umtiti, Gerard Pique, and Thomas Vermaelen. It’s hardly a gamble for Valverde to let a little-used defender go considering the group conceded the second-fewest goals in La Liga last season.

Ante Rebic talks “concrete offers” and possible Man United transfer?

There have been some concrete offers definitely for the services of Ante Rebic, the Croatia winger, and Eintracht Frankfurt player. Manchester United remains one of the teams that are most closely linked with a move. Before the transfer window closes on Thursday, the Red Devils have only a few days left to wrap up their summer business. Rebic talked about the race for his signature: “I am obviously glad to hear and read about how many big coaches and clubs are asking about me. Honestly, I think I deserved it! Yes, I know there are concrete offers, I keep in regular contact with my agent.” The sporting director at Eintracht Frankfurt, Bruno Hubner recently sought to quell transfer speculation by stating that Rebic would stay with the German club. After contributing a string of gutsy performances for Croatia at the World Cup in Russia, Rebic gained increased attention. He was starting in six out of seven games as they finished second to champions France. Per some sources, the Red Devils had interest linked with another winger, the Chelsea player Willian. Since the Brazilian player reaffirmed his loyalty to the Blues he no longer appears to be an option. Rebic has been featured largely on the left wing for Frankfurt the last term, and as well as adopting more central position; he can play as well either wing. He played the supporting striker role towards the end of the season by showing and finishing the campaign strongly by bagging two goals in the final win over Bayern Munich.  Also recently has been reported that Sevilla was in “advanced negotiations” so sign the Croatian. There is only one complicating thing about this deal by the fact that former club Fiorentina gets 50 percent of any future sale from Frankfurt.  It’s been a hectic summer for Man United and manager Mourinho has a need for more wide options but perhaps has more pressing areas of the squad in need of attention.  After joining Frankfurt last year initially on loan before making that transfer a permanent one before the World Cup, Rebic may yet hold out hope for a big-money move. For United, the time is running out to swoop before the Premier League transfer deadline on Thursday.

Toby Alderweireld transfer for Manchester United reportedly closed in on £60M

As reported Manchester United are poised to complete the final signing of Toby Alderweireld, the defender of Tottenham Hotspur as early as Monday. For the Belgium international it has been said that the Red Devils have struck a £60 million deal with the Spurs since the first offer has been unwillingly met by United for £75 million valuations of the player. Alderweireld is set to make the switch to United in the coming days with the negotiations have advanced in the past 48 hours. Before the transfer window closes on Thursday it was from a grand significance and priority for Jose Mourinho signing the defender. As possible targets also have been mentioned the names of Leicester City man Harry Maguire and Barcelona center-back Yerry Mina. But the favorite one to move to Old Trafford seems to be Alderweireld, who ended a successful-year stay in North London. It has been noticed that Mourinho has spent a lot of money improving his center-back options. Under the leading of the Portuguese, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly have both been brought in, they have shown promises at times, but neither of them established himself as a Premier League regular. According to Manchester Evening News, the links between United and the defenders have been plentiful this summer. When Alderweireldis at his best he is arguably the best defender in the division, who is able to mix it physically with the strongest forwards while being wise enough to cope with some of the quickest.  He is also a fine technical player. Alderweireld in the past two campaigns has struggled with injuries and he turns 30 in March. That’s why for Manchester the deal represents something of a gamble. But still, he has proved himself in the Premier League and will be undoubtedly an upgrade on the Mourinho’s exciting options since he is an elite defender.

Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic are staying in Real Madrid according to Julen Lopetegui

The reports that have been swirling around lately about the potential leaving of the Croatian midfield duo Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic out of the club are untrue. Julen Lopetegui has insisted these reports to be denied since Luka Modric has been linked with Inter Milan and Kovacic has reportedly not turned up for training in an attempt to force a move. Lopetegui is adamant they are going nowhere. For Marca, Lopetegui has said: “I have no record of what you say about Kovacic. He trained with his team-mates and there has not been the slightest problem. I love him and we are delighted that he is part of the club. I think that Modric and Kovacic are going to be very happy to play for Real Madrid.”   Modric has helped Madrid to win three successive Champions League titles and has been a vital cog in Madrid’s midfield over the last few years. Florentino Perez, the President has already said that any potential suitors for Modric would have to match his 750 million Euros release clause if they want to sign him this term. That’s one of the reasons why Lopetegui seems confident he will be able to call upon the services of Modric and Kovacic for the upcoming season.

Arsenal ready to sell Danny Welbeck amid Everton rumors

It has been said that Premier League side Everton is keen on the England international striker, and Arsenal are ready to sell him. After telling the former Man United attacker he can leave, the Gunners head coach Unai Emery is expected to welcome a bid from the Toffees according to some news reports. After a slew of injuries that have blighted his time in north London Welbeck is ready and very open to moving on. A portion of the following campaign has cost Welbeck’s knee injuries most of the 2015/16 season. But there is more to Welbeck’s uneven form at Arsenal; while there’s no doubt he hasn’t been helped by struggles to stay fit. The 27-year-old hit 10 goals across all competitions the last season and always being erratic in front of goal. It has been his best return as a Gunner. Arsenal is reportedly interested in Domagoj Vida, the Croatia international center-back but they would need to sell Welbeck and Shkodran Mustafi to fund a bid of 25 million Pounds. And this isn’t the first time that Welbeck’s future at the Emirates Stadium has been called into question. As Emery continued to reshape the squad Welbeck and backup goalkeeper David Ospina have been considered as high-profile departures. Welbeck will be out of contract in 2019 and that’s why Arsenal can afford to let him go. Also has been talked that there may also still be a place for Lucas Perez in Arsenal despite the reporting that Sporting Lisabon has agreed a 4.4 million deal to sign the striker. Compared to Welbeck, both Perez and Nketiah offer some superior quality as finishers, whose pace and commendable hard work can’t mask a lack of goals for much longer. Arsenal’s best move right now is cashing in.
