Who are Real Madrid’s transfer targets this summer?

After coach Zinedine Zidane left the club in May and after the departure of star player Cristiano Ronaldo for Juventus last week it will be a very different Real Madrid next season. It’s time for transition at the Santiago Bernabeu as club chief Florentino Perez promised more magnificent players to be joining the club this week.

The exit of Zinedine Zidane meant new coach for Los Blancos. He’s been replaced by former Spain coach Julen Lopetegui, who’s been removed from that role after Madrid made the announcement couple of days before the World Cup. Zinedine Zidane has led Los Blancos to three consecutive Champions League crowns.

The first signing has already been done by Lopetegui. Brought from Real Sociedad, Spain right-back Alvaro Odriozola was the first transfer earlier this month for a fee of around 35 million Euros. Now follows the toughest task of all – finding a Ronaldo replacement. For nine seasons Ronaldo was the mainstay of Real’s forward line and netted an incredible 450 goals in 438 games for Los Blancos.

Here’s the list of football players that Los Blancos are interested in:

  1. Neymar / Forward

The long-time target for Florentino Perez is Neymar. The Madrid president tried to bring in the Brazilian forward twice in the team in the past. His transfer to PSG last summer opened up a possibility of a third opportunity of signing. Madrid publicly denied they will move for the Brazilian, one of the top targets to replace Ronaldo is exactly this 26-year-old.

  1. Kylian Mbappe / Forward

The forward part of the French side which won the Cup in Russia last Sunday is Kylian Mbappe. He is another top target for Real Madrid, and despite denials, the club is keen on the youngster. However, Ronaldo is already off the wage bill at the Santiago Bernabeu and his replacement is much needed.

  1. Eden Hazard / Attacking Midfielder

The ideal alternative to both Mbappe and Neymar could be Eden Hazard. He already admitted that after finishing six seasons in London he would want to play for Real Madrid. And that was a clear hint that he sees himself at Real Madrid if he leaves the Chelsea side. Having 27 years old now looks like the right time to do that.

Also, the names of Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski, Thibaut Courtois and Thiago Alcantara popped up when it comes to transfers to the Royal Club.
