Everton are signing Yerry Mina after offering Barcelona £27M

The interest for Yerry Mina has attracted clubs from France and Germany, but it has been set to complete a switch to Merseyside after they increased their offer. After making an offer of £27 million, it’s set that Everton is on the very verge of signing the 23-year old Mina directly from Barcelona.

Everton are signing Yerry MinaIn January, Mina has arrived from Palmeiras at Barca but the problem is that the Camp Nou is decided listening offers for the Colombian defender despite his fantastic World Cup campaign and his insistence for staying in Barca. Still, an initial offer has been made by Everton emerging as the main candidates to sign Mina of £15m but soon that offer increased to £21m.

There have been other offers to from Borussia Dortmund, West Ham and Lyon, but Mina preferred to move to France to Merseyside. The Toffees are confident that they’ll wrap up this deal so they could sign the defender with the offered price and the Catalan club is ready for the transfer, after just a day seeing Barca get to sign Malcom from Bordeaux.

Marco Silva, the boss of Everton has already held talks to Jair Mina, his representative, and uncle over the center-back’s role in the team so Mina has been definitely the top target for this club. In January Mina signed a five and a half year deal with Barcelona, but he made only six appearances for Valverde’s side as they went for the Spanish league title.

Barcelona was actually forced to consider letting go of Mina, since the arrival of Arthur Melo from Gremio that happened this summer. Due to having too many foreign players this just had to happen.

However, Mina took his goal record for the national team of Colombia in the World Cup, has 15 caps for his team to his name too in the World Cup campaign. Mina may have missed the opening game against Japan, but surely didn’t miss to score against Poland, Senegal, and England as the South Americans made it to the last 16.

After snapping up Richarlison from Watford for £40m he will be Everton’s second big signing of the summer.
