As they arrive in Samara, a city that is famous as Russia’s aerospace center, Serbia and Costa Rica are ready to lift at the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018.

After getting out of a tough group with England, Uruguay, and Italy at Brazil 2014 journey Costa Rica have advanced all the way to the quarter-finals and were the Cinderella story of the tournament.

And Serbia is back on the world stage for the first time since 2010 where they have failed, despite defeating Germany 1-0 in their second match. They finished top of Group D in European qualifying ahead of the likes of Austria, Republic of Ireland and Wales.

Did you know that Serbia (all as Yugoslavia, and all in the group stage) have won all three of their previous World Cup Fixtures against CONCACAF opposition – 4-1 vs. Mexico in Porto Alegre in 1950, 1-0 vs. Honduras in Zaragoza and 1-0 vs. the USA in Nantes in 1998.
