5 stars to make the leap to stardom at FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia
The place where legacies are cemented, reputations are earned and where players are placed into the pantheon of all-time greats is the FIFA World Cup 2018.
With a great dose of excitement, young talents from different nations this year’s World Cup promises not to be any less than the expected.
So here are the five bright, young stars worth watching on the Cup:
#5 Hakim Ziyech (Morocco)
The midfielder with strong attacking abilities has the statistics to back up the claim as one of the players poised for a break-out at World Cup. Ziyech had fifteen assists this season and scored nine goals.
He is already a threat in the attacking third by possessing his great balance, exceptional vision, and his smooth footwork. Ziyech on this World Cup has the perfect opportunity to achieve a career-defining moment with Morocco’s draw.
#4 Giovani Lo Celso (Argentina)
When a name like Javier Pastore has been displaced by another player at the age of 21 and from the starting line it’s pretty much clear that the player has something special in him breaking through. Lo Celso scored four goals, three assists and made 17 appearances for PSG in Ligue 1 this season.
Lo Celso’s play highlights are being the solid pass-first player, performing a role every team desires and needs desperately.
#3 Hirving Lozano (Mexico)
Grabbing eyeballs with his outstanding performances this season is the young 22-year old Mexican starlet. As he came from the Mexican club Pachuca there was a lot of hype surrounding Lozano.
Agile, with great dribbling abilities, a lot of pace and good crossings from the wings, Lozano has become the force of attacks on the field, but an elite one. Lozano’s turn of pace and explosiveness might bring him a bright future in Barcelona. Of course, if he continues to perform at the high level he has this season, according to Luis Suarez.
#2 Sergej Milinkovic – Savic (Serbia)
The player who dominates the game and who stands out on the pitch with his personality and technical ability is Mielnkovic-Savic.
“The Sergeant” is one of the hottest prospects in world football at the moment thanks to his hardly any discernible weakness, a well-rounded game and this seasons performance for Lazio. Milinkovic-Savic makes the world stop and watch and that comes once in a while.
The fantastic return for a central midfielder with six assists in all competitions and 13 goals scored make him a unique player at the moment.
#1 Timo Werner (Germany)
Werner as one of the top strikers in German football top division has developed that reputation, currently playing for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
His 21 scored goals across all competitions in Europe and Germany are showing his great form. Werner uses his pace on the brake to affect the defense of the opposition. Has developed into a complete scorer and assured when in front of the goal.
Germany is the prohibitive favorites this year to win the crown again because of their quality squad.
