Manchester United have offered to sign Axel Witsel

The release clause for Axel Witsel is set to 17 million Pounds and Manchester United has reportedly offered the chance to sign him by Chinese outfit Tianjin Quanjian. It has been said that Jose Mourinho could be prepared to take up the offer, according to Manchester Evening News while Borussia Dortmund who is the alternative suitors aren’t prepared to pay the fee. At the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the 29-year-old played a key role for Belgium as the Red Devils have reached the semi-finals. During his career, he has been regularly linked with top European clubs and has turned down Juventus right when he moved from Zenit Saint Petersburg to China back in January 2017. Witsel is an excellent central midfielder, boasting an easy passing range and close ball control. Even though Manchester does not necessarily need a player like him, still at 17 million Pounds he is the potential bargain. Manchester has already signed Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer so he will join the central midfield unit that also includes Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini. If Mourinho plans on adding him to the mix it would surely mean at least one departure from Old Trafford to free some space up in the squad.

  After failing to update his passport Willian returned five days later than expected to pre-season and Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has just admitted he is “not happy” with that situation. Agreeing that it was a strange situation, Sarri said that he would want to have a talk with Willian about the matter. After playing for Brazil on the World Cup Willian has been on holiday since then, following his efforts with Brazilian squad. Last Friday was the day when he should’ve to rejoin Chelsea but eventually, he came back on Wednesday so could not play a part in the Blues pre-season clash in Dublin against Arsenal. Chelsea has another pre-season clash at Stamford Bridge with Lyon before they kick off their 2018-19 Premier League campaign on August 11 at Huddersfield Town. Willian should be starting picking up Sarri’s methods before the season starts so can properly get underway. The manager wanted as much time to spend with his key players as possible, and Willian’s late return could have been avoided. This summer Willian has been linked with Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester United but the Blues said there was nothing untoward, by remaining in constant contact about his late arrival. Sarri will be eager that he hits his top form as soon as possible since the former Shakhtar Donetsk star has been the key attacking player for Chelsea recently.

Lucas Digne signed for Everton from Barcelona

The France international Lucas Digne has been signed officially by Everton from Barcelona on a five–year contract. On Wednesday the move has been announced on the Toffees official Twitter account, with the information of the left-back signing a contract till 2023. Following the arrival of Richarlison from Watford, Digne has become the second signing made by the new boss of Everton, Marco Silva. It has been reached an 18 million Pounds deal with the La Liga Champions for Digne. According to Phil Kirkbride of the Liverpool Echo, this price may rise to 20 million Pounds due to add-ons. Digne has struggled his way into the side at the expense of Jordi Alba in the two years that he spent on Camp Nou. In order to rediscover his spark that was so evident in the early stage of his career, he needs some regular football and some stability to rise again. For the Bleus, Digne has the attributes to be a fine left-back, since throughout his career he showcased his tenacity and energy. When he does overlap in the final third he showed his intelligence enough to link up with attackers. He hasn’t had a consistent foundation while playing as a fringe player at PSG and Barcelona, so this is why it will be good for him in Everton. There he will face some competition for his place in the team from veteran Leighton Bains. Silva hopes that Digne is able to strike up an understanding with new man Richarlison down the left flank since now he has two quality options in the position.

Manchester United ask Mina to wait before making the final decision

There isn’t a lot of time for Mina because of the English transfer market closes on the 9th of August. So his future is most likely to be resolved as soon as this week, where there is a majority of interested parties in Mina’s play. An interesting proposition at the moment has Mina received and it comes from Everton. But, that’s has been put on hold because of the Man United’s arrival on the scene. Jose Mourinho demands his squad reinforced for the next season and has asked for a center-back.  Leicester City’s high price for their first choice Harry Maguire means that they have to search elsewhere. On the list of the backups for Manchester United, the name of Mina has been written. At the same time that Man United has approached Maguire, they asked Barca too about Mina’s asking price. Maguire is not forcing the move from Leicester and waits for the two clubs to reach an agreement. Manchester United would go and tie up a deal with around 40 million Euros for Mina if the negotiations with the Foxes continue to stall since they are asking for at least 70 million Euros for Maguire. If a settlement is reached with Leicester then it will be Jamie Vardy’s team who launch a bid for Mina instead. Everton would need their offer to be closer to 40 million Euros if they don’t want to lose out on Mina because the defender isn’t ruling out any possible destination at the moment.
