This summer Manchester United is reportedly poised to keep Anthony Martial at the club as they are struggling to find a replacement for the Frenchman. While Martial is keen to leave this summer Old Trafford, according to Richard Tanner of the Daily Mirror the chances of him staying in the club are increasing.
There has been a report that Manchester has been against a swap deal that has been offered for Martial. The Red Devils have placed the 80 million Pound valuation on their No. 11 and it’s been said to be putting off clubs. And that means Martial is likely to stay at Manchester when the transfer window closes on Thursday despite the tensions between himself and manager Jose Mourinho.
After Martial has failed to return to training in time following the birth of his second child, Mourinho is said to be unhappy with him. Mourinho has fined him with the player two weeks wages but still Martial returned on Friday to training with United. Tumbling down the pecking order at United last term Martial’s standing in the squad is curious heading into the upcoming Premier League campaign.
After his form suffered, the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January made some minutes tougher to come by. Martial has showcased in the past that he can thrive in the Premier League, so it is a bit frustrating situation for those associated with Manchester. He scored 11 goals in his debut campaign for Manchester United, and grabbed four assists, lighting up the top flight.
It is a desperate situation for the United fans too who are waiting to see more of the player that has torn up the Premier League in bursts. It would be possible for Mourinho to leave Martial on the sidelines for long if he knuckles down and showcases that brilliant type of form.
