The Portugal international, after just a single season at San Siro, will play next term in Spain after he failed to shine with the Rossoneri. Andre Silva will move on to La Liga on a one-year loan deal after Sevilla and AC Milan have reached an agreement. He moved forward to San Siro last summer, but he failed to establish himself as Milan endured yet another mediocre Serie A season in 2017-18.
Silva has opted for a move away from Milan now that Gonzalo Higuain is arriving at the club so he can heighten the competition among the Rossoneri’s forwards. The Andalucian team has agreed on a 5 million Euros loan transfer that has a purchase option also included in the deal. In return for a fee of 30 million Euros, Sevilla will have the opportunity to sign Silva on a permanent basis prior to June 30, next year.
Silva was excluded from Milan’s team to face Real Madrid in Saturday’s Copa Bernabeu since his future remained up in the air. Leonardo, the club sporting director has publicly stated that the possibility of him leaving the club is there, it just remains to see where and how. But now we have the answers to both questions as Silva gears up for a new challenge in Spain. This is Silva’s chance to start again after last year’s abortive Serie A adventure. In 24 league games in 2018-19, the player scored two goals, although he fared better in the Europa League. He scored six goals that brought the Rossoneri to the last -16 stage.
