Florentino Perez says Luka Modric is not leaving for less than 750M E amid transfer rumors

Inter Milan has been interested in Luka Modric lately. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez made it more than clear that Modric won’t be leaving the Spanish giants this summer, unless there is a club that agrees to pay his 750 million Euros release clause in full.

Former poster child Cristiano Ronaldo has been sold by Los Blancos to Juventus for 100 million Euros this summer and now Perez is facing other suitors for another of his headline stars. Some reports and news say that Modric’s wife Vanja Bosnic wants to leave Madrid. Also that Modric has been keen lately to join the Croatian contingent of Marcelo Brozovic, Ivan Perisic and the new arrival Sime Vrsaljko at Inter. After the 2018 FIFA World Cup final, the 32-year-old has enjoyed an extended holiday after Croatia’s run.

The contract with Real Madrid isn’t on due to expire until the summer of 2020 for Modric. He would be on the verge of turning 35 by the end of that deal and it’s plausible he wants to experience another set, rather than just staying at Real until he is on the cusp of retirement. For a company, Modric has already one Croat countryman but Mateo Kovacic has long served as the understudy in Real so he wants to leave the club himself.

Inter has made some other impressive transfers this summer so it seems like a good time to join an Inter side.

This price-tag given by Perez may seem daunting at first but there is likely more realistic value that the club could come to if Modric wants to leave the club after six years of service. Still. Contracts can be binding at a club as powerful as Real so it could take a foul turn for refuse any request to leave. We already know the reason why he’s been a vital figure in each of Real’s Four UEFA Champions League wins in the last five seasons.
