Sebastian Rudy can leave Bayern Munich, says Niko Kovac

Midfielder Sebastian Rudy can leave the Bundesliga champions according to Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac in the summer transfer window.  He said that Sebastian is a player who really wants to play a lot, but that the club already is really well-catered with numerous top players in that position in midfield. Because they all cannot play at the same time, it makes sense that he wants to leave the club. Rudy was playing for the Germany squad this year at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He, however, has struggled to command a regular place in the Bayern team since the time he arrived from Hoffenheim last summer. The player made only 16 Bundesliga starts for Bayern with competition for places fierce. His international hopes weren’t affected by the lack of his playing time, as he was selected by Joachim Low for the World Cup. Germany has failed to make it out of the group stages and it was a disappointing campaign for them, unfortunately. However, Rudy put in a strong showing despite only seeing limited game time for Die Mannschaft in Russia. He also said that he wants to stay and fight for his place in the team, early this summer. Lothar Matthaus, Bayern Munich legend has spoken about this subject and clearly said that it would be a huge mistake for his former team to sell the midfielder. Even after the good and wise words Lothar Matthaus shared in his column Kovac’s comments suggest that Rudy will see little game time this season. Before the transfer window closes Rudy has decisions to make at the end of the month over whether to stay and fight for his place or just move on forward. At 28 years he would prefer to play more regularly even though the thoughts about him leaving Bayern are that this is likely to be a step down for Rudy.

Bayern Munich keen on Ivan Rakitic

Bayern Munich keen on Ivan Rakitic

The Bundesliga giants are contemplating making a move for Ivan Rakitic. The Croatia international is reportedly wanted by Bayern Munich. He is also attracting Ligue 1 rivals AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain. It has been detailed that he would be the perfect replacement of Arturo Vidal at the Allianz Arena. Earlier this summer Vidal swapped Bayern for Barcelona in a deal worth around 32 million Pounds. The Chile international could be replaced with Manchester United’s Paul Pogba by the Blaugrana and could sell Rakitic to raise funds to complete that deal. If one of these high-profile suitors reportedly intent on signing him, Rakitic would be open to leaving Camp Nou for one of the clubs. It would mean a major investment for Bayern to buy Rakitic, with the hefty fee amounts to Rakitic’s clause at the Camp Nou, particularly for a midfielder who is 30. Rakitic has the skill to be an asset for any of Europe’s top clubs. He is combining the industry with vision, guile, and flair that make him a tenacious box-to-box marauder. Also, he is a useful source of goals and creativity. Those qualities helped him score twice and provide five assists last season even in what was a down campaign statistically for Rakitic. We have all been reminded once again of his talent on the FIFA World Cup in Russia by helping the Blazers reach the final. Bayern will struggle to find a replacement as capable as Rakitic if Thiago left. After seeing Iniesta move to Japan and Paulinho return to China, Barca would surely be reluctant to let him go. Meanwhile, Andre Gomes joined Everton on a season-long loan. So it would make definitely more sense for manager Ernesto Valverde to keep Rakitic in his squad alongside Sergio Busquets, Denis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho, and Vidal.

Ante Rebic extends Eintracht Frankfurt contract after Bayern and Man United talk

On the back of Rebic’s World Cup exploits the Croatia international has been heavily linked with a big-money move for Man United or Bayern, but he decided to stay put. He has put an end to the speculations for his future in Eintracht Frankfurt by signing a new contract with the Bundesliga club for four years. After Rebic has been linked with big clubs like Manchester United and Bayern Munich after starring for Croatia on their campaign at the World Cup semi-finals. Rebic has committed himself on a long-term future contract to Frankfurt with whom he won the DFB-Pokal last season, and he has opted against a reunion with Niko Kovac at the Allianz Arena. Eintracht Frankfurt has managed to keep such a strong player that speaks a lot about the club itself. Rebic was wooed by some of the top clubs and had overseas offers too, but saying with Frankfurt shows that he really carries the Eagles in his heart. Eintracht Frankfurt feels like they’re on the right path with their plans. They have taken a step forward in terms of keeping top players and in terms of cost-effectiveness.  For Frankfurt, it is very important to keep his qualities in their ranks because he simply fits perfectly into the system of their coach Adi Hutter, with his speed and dynamism. Rebic represents a figure of honor not just to the club but the fans too.

Robert Lewandowski stays in Bayern, no transfer for Madrid

Niko Kovac, the manager of Bayern Munich has ruled out that the player is leaving the club this summer. Rumors have been swirling around that Man United and Real Madrid are interested in his signature for their clubs. First has been hinted by Kovac that Lewandowski’s current employers aren’t ready to part way with him, even if he may want to go elsewhere. They said: “There’s nothing new with Robert, it’s clear that he will not leave this club because we have a top striker and we certainly do not want to relinquish him or give him away. Robert has a contract—I do not know how long—and he will certainly stay as long as possible here.” But there have been some quotes from Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi that were included in Malam’s article. He says that Robert feels like he may need a change and definitely a new challenge in his career. His motives are not to join a specific club or related to money, and that Bayern’s managers know all about it. Later on, Marca wrote that Lewandowski has a specific club on his mind and that Robert is dreaming about of a move to Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Madrid is in search to bounce back from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus. Lewandowski left his agent, Cezary Kucharski of 10 years, so he can join up with Zahavi in February this year. But seemingly Bayern and Kovac are not interested in selling him.

Pulisic reportedly valued €70M by Dortmund amid transfer rumors

Unless €70 million is offered to Borussia Dortmund they are not even going to think selling Christian Pulisic. Shining in the UEFA Champions League and for BVB in the Bundesliga, Pulisic has established himself as one of the best prospect made in football in recent years. There is a number of clubs that are interested in him including Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and some in the United States international. Consistently linked to the 19-year-old has been Liverpool too. Real Madrid made clear that they might be considering moving Pulisic in their club after the selling of Ronaldo in early July to Juventus. The recent win over Liverpool where Pulisic netted twice was obviously impressive throughout the clash. The effort he puts playing for Dortmund turned him of a hero in his homeland. The technical ability he has assures that he can play either flank or behind the center-forward.  His composure and his change of pace make him a threat. The defenders in the Bundesliga found difficult to halt this young footballer and attacker with all his attributes. His performance is beyond thrilling to watch. The most sensible choice for the youngster so far is another year at Dortmund under the guidance of a smart coach. The German club will start to revise the asking price for the footballer if he continues on an upward trajectory.

Karius slams the critics despite making a mistake in Dortmund defeat

After committing another error in the match Liverpool against Borussia Dortmund where Liverpool thrived 3-1 in the International Champions Cup, Loris Karius has taken the issue to social media to hit back at his critics. Continuing to come under fire the German stopper has support with Iker Casillas leaping to his defense about this case. Fumbling Christian Pulisic’s shot as Jacob Bruun Larsen scored the third goal for Dortmund in stoppage time, Liverpool goalkeeper Karius didn’t have luck even after an earlier unpunished lapse when he sliced a clearance straight to Maximillian Philipp on Sunday. After those two glaring errors against Real Madrid in Liverpool’s 3-1 Champions League final defeat, Karius has been the target of ridicule from many fans of the club. He has been backed by the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp so he can learn from his mistakes, while the Reds have since then signed Alisson in a world-record deal for a keeper. Meanwhile, Karius took to his Instagram to respond to his detractors amid the ongoing scrutiny by saying: “To those who take joy in seeing other people fail or suffer, I feel for you. Whatever it is that is happening in your life to hold this much anger and hate, I pray that it passes and good things come to you.” The Captain of Spain and former Madrid goalkeeper, Iker Casillas also came to the defense on his fellow stopper, showing that Klopp isn’t the only one who’s tired of Karius critics. “This attack on Loris Karius, will it ever end? I’m talking about him like so many other goalkeepers. There are many more serious problems in the world… f***! Leave the kid alone. He is also a person. As we all are!” – wrote Casillas on his Twitter account.
