Jose Mourinho turned down Kylian Mbappe, Gareth Bale, and Neymar pursuit

Reportedly, Jose Mourinho, Manchester United coach assured the club to not get the big-name players this summer, with Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale as a possible target and also PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. We have the information coming from Miguel Delaney of The Independent that Mourinho has a clear idea how to work with his team and strategies and the way he wants to structure his squad. He wants to put in the work the already experienced center-backs and hard-working wingers. And that explains precisely why he is so eager to get Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur.   The move that would salvage the club’s transfer window this summer is the one that Mourinho is already setting as a primary objective – landing an experienced defender. But there is another defender that has been a target too beside Alderweireld that has been linked to the club. The other target is the World Cup standout playing for Leicester – Harry Maguire. The Red Devils are opting not to bring in too many impact players and are remarkably quiet about everything they do when compared to their main Premier League rivals. The signing of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk has been their biggest deal so far. Even though he’s highly touted player, he is not the headline-grabbing signing, simply not that type. Mentioned as possible suitors for most top players every summer, it doesn’t help much that Manchester United has been leading the fans to disappointment. And that’s something that has been around frequently. Before Mourinho expands the play of the club on the level of football the club plays moving forward, he wants to primarily bring his defense to the level he desires. The Red Devils have time to decide until August 9 about their transfer business, because that’s the day when the Premier League’s transfer window will close early this summer.

Will Toby Alderweireld make his transfer to Manchester United?

Manchester United have been interested in the Belgium international, but according to some sources, Tottenham Hotsppur and Man United are still remaining apart in their valuation of a deal for Alderweireld. The Spurs are pricing the defender in excess of £50m. The Belgian representative has one year left on his current contract, but he has an option of a one-year extension that includes a £25m release clause for next summer. The thing is that the talks over a new possible deal have continued to stall. The sources have understood that at this stage Anthony Martial, the Man United forward told his coach, Jose Mourinho, he wants to leave. The Spurs, on the other hand, have a long-standing interest in him, so it’s unlikely for him to end up in the club. But that would mean United would need to meet the full asking price for the Belgian player. If this transfer happens Alderweireld is expected to go to the final days of the window, which closes for Premier League clubs on August 9. Alderweireld admitted that he was still unsure about his future earlier this month by adding that his prolonged spell out of Tottenham’s first-team last season was unjustified. It has been said that still Tottenham and Alderweireld could yet agree to terms on a new contract but this is already looking increasingly unlikely as another potential outcome. Ahead of the new season, Jose Mourinho is looking to bolster his defensive options, so according to some news it has been reported that United have approached Leicester regarding the centre-back Harry Maguire from England.

Jose Mourinho points out the reasons Paul Pogba to understand why he is so good

Pogba was one of the stars of France’s World Cup triumph and Jose Mourinho has pointedly urged to tell him to understand why he nailed the World Cup. Capping an incredible individual campaign in Russia, Pogba superbly netted Les Bleus third goals in Sunday’s 4-2 result win over Croatia. He shined on the biggest stage in the world, so the 25-year-old grew into the tournament; a contrast to the fractious season at Old Trafford under Mourinho’s coaching. For both legs of the Champions League Pogba found himself on the bench and was withdrawn during losses to Newcastle United and Tottenham. Then a speculation mounted that the relations with his manager were over a breakdown. Mourinho hailed his performances during the latter stages of the competition and confirmed he passed the congratulations to Pogba.  Mourinho hopes that the club’s record signing has the awareness to bring this form into the Premier League. “I think that’s the point about his performance level and his contribution to a winning team – for him to understand why he was so good, especially in the second part of the competition. I hope that he understands why he was very good. In the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final he was absolutely brilliant.” – added Mourinho. “To win the World Cup can only be a positive thing. It’s difficult to say that to win the World Cup is not good for a player’s career. So many good players never have the change to be a world champion.” –  said firmly, Mourinho.
